At the Tuesday, March 1 meeting of the Altus City Council a budget amendment in the amount of $37,500 will be considered to make improvements to the Cole Heights Park (Missile Park) on Katy Drive. The funds will be used to renovate the gym floor and improve park lighting, fencing, awnings, and dirt work and gravel. Funds will also be used to paint, repair and further maintain the concession stands and bathrooms at the park.

Also during the meeting, council will consider, discuss and vote to approve a recommendation from the Altus/Southwest Area Economic Corporation to use Economic Development funds from MAPS for Altus sales tax to assist in the development of the facility for the producers of Cooperative Oil Mill which is relocating to Altus from Oklahoma City.

A zoning classification to change for a tract adjacent to Falcon Road – the proposed Mesquite Meadows Addition – from agriculture to suburban commercial will be considered.

In executive session, council will discuss the appraisal of real property, the value of leased groundwater, of the 2015 Round Timber groundwater lease agreement, and in open session, take any appropriate action.
