Eldorado residents went to the polls Tuesday for a special school election. There were two propositions on the ballot.
The $100,000 bond issue is to provide funds for construction, repairs and remodeling, as well as for school furniture and improving school sites. It passed, as did the second proposition, a $50,000 bond to provide funds for the purpose of purchasing transportation equipment.
Proposition 1 passed 78 to 30, and Proposition 2 passed 82 to 28.
For proposition 1, there were no votes in precincts 290204, 330019 or 330024. Precinct 290302 had three votes yes and three votes no. Precinct 330018 had 75 yes votes and 27 no votes.
For proposition 2, there were no votes in precincts 290204, 330019 or 330024. Precinct 290302 also had three votes yes and three votes no. Precinct 330018 had 79 yes votes and 25 no votes.
The Eldorado School District serves a total of 74 students, Pre-K through the 12th grade and also offers an alternative education program to students who qualify. Eldorado also offers career tech and many advanced courses for high school juniors and seniors as well as agricultural education for 8th through 12th graders.
The school employs 11 teachers and a support staff of five.
