Join Western Oklahoma State College at a blood drive with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). All healthy adults, 16 and older,* are encouraged to donate blood from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27 in the Multipurpose Complex at Western Oklahoma State College.

Blood donors will receive “Set Sail” T-shirts and a chance to win a 7-night Caribbean cruise provided by Fundraisingcruises.org. If blood donors choose to forgo the T-shirts, funds designated for this item will go to support the Global Blood Fund. It’s an international nonprofit assisting blood centers in developing countries.

“Through blood donation, you become the ‘anchor’ for local patients weathering life’s toughest storms,” said Daren Coats, vice president, western division operations, Oklahoma Blood Institute. “We urge more citizens take that role seriously and make giving a priority for those in area hospitals.”

Appointments are not required but can be made by calling (877) 340-8777 or visiting obi.org.
