Wing change of command to take place at Altus AFB June 26


ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE – A new commander will take charge of the 97th Air Mobility Wing June 26.

The base will welcome Col. Todd A. Hohn as the new 97th AMW commander and bid farewell to Col. William A. Spangenthal, who has served as the 97th AMW commander since June 27, 2013.

Hohn previously served as a Chief of Staff of the Air Force Fellow with duty as the Distribution Division Chief, JCS/J4, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., where he supported the Joint Chiefs of Staff by synchronizing the development, assessment, and implementation of joint logistics distribution, deployment policy and strategic guidance.

Spangenthal will move on to serve as the Director, Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Executive Action Group at the Pentagon, Washington D.C.

During the ceremony, Airmen of the Mighty 97th will honor Spangenthal for his service, and welcome Hohn as the new wing commander.
