Information about generator reimbursement given

Lloyd Colston, - Emergency Management Director - for the City of Altus

While the Federal Emergency Management Agency is NOT giving away generators, local emergency managers advised, IF you NEED a generator, buy one.

Keep your receipt.

Call your insurance agent to determine if your homeowners or renter’s policy will reimburse the cost.

Keep your receipt.

IF you receive word from an official source that the County has received approval for “individual assistance”, THEN you will need your receipt for FEMA, if the generator was purchased due to a medical necessity.
