Briones honored as School Employee of the Month

Aurora Briones of Washington Elementary has been voted the Altus Public Schools Employee of the Month for December. Briones serves the students of Washington as a Title I teacher’s assistant. She has been an exemplary employee of Altus Schools for 21 years. This semester alone, Briones has run over 300 interventions for students struggling with academic gaps.

Briones is the proud mother of two daughters, Jessica and Kendra. She also has two special granddaughters, Jaxsen and Marli.

She loves working with all the students in all different grade levels every day. Ms. Briones says, “I hope to provide a strong foundation, and be a major influence in preparing them for their years ahead. I hope to help them develop skills that they will use to their benefit for the rest of their lives.” She also expresses, “I love Washington’s staff. They are my co-workers; they are my family. I am truly blessed.”

Stockman’s Bank President, Danna Robinson was on hand to congratulate Briones and present her with a $100 bill on behalf of Stockman’s Bank.
