The Jackson County Commissioners held their regular meeting Monday at the Jackson County Courthouse. The meeting was called to order, and the November 2015 reports were given.
Jackson County Treasurer Renee Howard reported that the County Sales Tax collections from the State of Oklahoma was in the amount of $111,246.67, a total of $2,707.10 more than last month. As of December 11, 2015 the Tobacco Tax collections was $1,316.47, a total of $57.98 less than last month. Use Tax collections from the State of Oklahoma was collected in the amount of $5,136, this is collections for the month of October 2015 , a total of $180.96 less than last month.
Approval was given to appoint Korey Thomas to serve on the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) District of Jackson County Board of Trustees beginning Dec. 14, 2015 and ending June 30, 2019 to fill the unexpired term of Pat Hunter.
Commissioners set Jan. 19, 2016 as the election date for the Jackson County Fair Board. All seats will be up for election and the filing dates will be Jan. 4-8, 2016.
The Fiscal year 2016 Emergency Management Program Grant Contractual Agreement between the State of Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Jackson County was approved.
Advertisement for bids will be taken for a breathing air compressor station 5000 PSI service for the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department and for repeaters and antennas for emergency communications for the Jackson County Rural Fire Chiefs Association.
Bids were opened with possible action on road, bridge materials and tires for the period beginning Jan. 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2016.
Commissioners had no new business or claims.
