OKLAHOMA CITY – A contract was awarded for widening, resurfacing, and bridge work in Jackson County, Sen. Mike Schulz and Rep. Charles Ortega recently announced.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the project will involve widening, resurfacing, and bridge work on US-283, south of SH-5 east, extending north near Altus.
Schulz (R-Altus) said the State Transportation Commission awarded the nearly $10 million contract to the Cummins Construction Company, Inc. The Enid company was the lowest of three bidders for the job, said Ortega (R-Altus).
Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within nine months.
