The 1st annual Tripp & Son’s Christmas Appreciation Gathering & Benefit Auction will be held Thursday evening, Dec. 17 with a social hour from 6 to 7 p.m., and a live auction starting at 7 p.m. The event will be held in Band Room H12 (north end of the building) at Western Oklahoma State College.
It’s free and auction proceeds will go to benefit the Altus Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) outreach to the youngest most junior enlisted military families at Altus Air Force Base.
“We can’t do it alone,” said ASYMCA’s Joan Wilcoxen. “We need your help to make this a successful event. We’re asking the community to pitch in and donate items.”
Items that are suggested to be donated include Hors d’oeuvres or a dessert and/or an auction item (for example: a themed basket of your choice, event tickets, gift cards, gift certificates, sports memorabilia, collectibles, jewelry or any kind of holiday gift items).
Donations can be dropped off at Southwest Printing, 117 W. Commerce on the north side of the downtown Altus square, or by calling Scott Tripp at 580-471-4144 or Debbie Davis at 580-471-2573 by Dec. 14 if you need us to pick them up. If you would like to help set-up or have any decorations to loan please contact Scott on or before Dec. 16.
If you would like to bring food or items the day of the auction, please have them at the Band Room at WOSC by 4 p.m. on Dec. 17.
“Let’s show our support of our military in true Altus fashion,” said Wilcoxen. “Mark your calendars and plan to come shop.”
Bring your spouses, significant others, friends, and family (children are also welcome). Please pass along this information and let’s raise some money for the Altus ASYMCA.
