Santa 5K Run,Walk set for Dec. 6

The 2nd annual Great Santa 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held at Western Oklahoma State College on Dec. 6, starting at 10 a.m. The event is being held to benefit the Altus High School Women’s Track Team.

The Altus Track Booster Clubs invites everyone to this event designed for both adults and children. You can enjoy the atmosphere as Christmas music plays while you run. There will be three special water stations, plus a Pinch the Grinch contest. If you catch him, you get a prize. For kids under 10, there will be a Santa Chase 1/2 mile run where you run after Santa to get a prize. Everyone is encourage to come and run in a Christmas-themed costume.

There will be three special stations on the course. The first is a Christmas Cookie Station, the second is a Mistletoe/Kissing station, and the third is a Hot Chocolate Station.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the race starting at 10 a.m. and will take place on the north side of the WOSC campus by the baseball fields. There will be decorated Christmas ornaments for the top five finishers in each category.

Pre-registration is $25 with a T-shirt or long sleeve dry fit shirt and a Santa hat. After Nov. 22, cost is $30. T-shirt guaranteed to all full-price paid participants.
