The Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council will hold their 29th annual Festival of Trees and fundraising event on Thursday, Dec. 10. The even will begin with a social hour with food, drinks, entertainment and a silent auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a live auction at 7:30 p.m. at the Days Inn of Altus. Along with the silent and live auctions of unique holiday items, original art work, food and entertainment packages, and gift baskets will be available.
The Council welcomes both cash donations and donated items for the auction. The monetary donations will be used by the committee members to purchase merchandise for the silent and live auctions. Donors will be spotlighted with their name under the categories of Platinum ($250+), Silver ($100+), and Bronze ($25+).
Cathy Stone, President of the SAHC said, “We are very grateful for the generous support we receive. All money raised at this event will stay in Altus and Southwest Oklahoma to provide quality arts and humanities programming.”
Some of the programs supported by SAHC include the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, art workshops for children and adults, music events, and the Chautauqua “Living History” series coming this spring.
