The Jackson County Commissioner’s met in regular monthly session on Monday at the Jackson County Courthouse.
Approval was granted to Fred Van Pelt to serve as board member for the Elmer Rural Volunteer Fire Department beginning Dec. 5, 2015 through Dec. 2, 2020.
The Commissioner’s approved the execution of a contract to Friendship Volunteer Fire Department in the amount $42, 915 to purchase fire equipment. The Jackson County Rural Fire Chiefs Association were also awarded a contract in the amount of $24,414 to purchase repeaters and antennas for emergency communications. The Warren Community Fire Department received $45,000 for specific appurtenances of a new fire station building. All these were granted through the 2016 REAP (Rural Economic Action Plan).
Jackson County Treasurer Renee Howard reported the County sales tax collections from the State of Oklahoma to be $108,539.57 for the month of September 2015. This was $5,325.05 less than last month. The Tobacco Tax collections from the State in September 2015 totaledf $1,374.45. This was $49.51 less than last month. The amount of Use Tax collections from the State for September was $5,316.96. The total was $2,375.36 less than last month.
Commissioners then approved the Action on Resolution accepting the beneficial interest in the Jackson County Educational Facilities Authority created by a trust indenture for and behalf of Jackson County, in all respects in accordance with terms of said trust indenture for Duke Public Schools.
