Over a dozen interested local business representatives attended the Social Media Workshop held Thursday morning at the Altus Chamber of Commerce.
“With the growth of the Altus Air Force Base comes new potential customers for your business, ” said Amber Ludeman, CEO of Digital Matchstick Social. Ludeman has seven years of marketing experience having worked for Bridgestone and Firestone, and has a passion for helping small businesses grow.
Presented in the workshops was basic information to help businesses to increase their customer base. This included that 2.4 hours is the average time a social media user spends a day on social media, that 4 in 5 consumers search online for local businesses, and that 50% of people conduct a local search on their phones visit the business that same day.
Ludeman noted that social media is consistent, very impactful and is part of our lives. Response to customers, negative or positive is talked about on social media. Setting goals is also very important, create an ad to achieve a goal.
Ludeman added that three important things to always remember is to be present, be consistent and be authentic.
The next social media workshop is planned for Thursday, Dec. 17. To attend and register, please call the Altus Chamber at 580-482-0210.
