The Altus Master’s Swim Club, a United States Master Swim club, has been in the pool practicing for six short weeks. Six members and their coach are headed to Mitch Park YMCA in Edmond this Saturday to take on other Oklahoma USMS teams.

Arnold Reider, Will Friar, April Grynkiewicz, Kristen Balko, Robyn Kidd (co-coach) and Victor Wells (not pictured) will be swimming individual events as well as a relay for the team. Jill Bender will be attending as their coach. Each of these members have dedicated themselves to practicing three times a week from 6 to 7:30 a.m., one of which makes the drive from Texas to be with them.

“We are excited to participate and just gain the experience of being in a meet,” said co-coach Robyn Kidd.

For several, this will be their very first meet to compete in. The ages of the team range from mid-twenties to mid-sixties. If you would like to join them in their next meet, come the the Altus City Pool on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 a.m. to join the fun. For more information, email: altusmasters@gmail.com.
