Brandi Waldroop received $1,328.90 for the new novels for the English department. Other English teachers are Debbie Hopkins and Laurie Ann Winters.


Christina Winters and Danette Funkhouser received $735.11 for chartstands, dry erase boards and CD players.


David Doss received $500 for advanced mathematic students graphing calculators.


Don Williamson received $389.42 for desk moving equipment.

Sherri Webb and Laurey Dunn received $1,308.19 for a presentation board.

Tammy Schafer and Kaylyn Bishop received $364.01 for three tablets.


Tana Curry and Tommy Burks received $1,209.98 for photography equipment.


Whitney Laplant received $257.04 for painting class aprons.


The Navajo School Foundation, created in July 2014, recently gave $18,422.13 in grants to the Navajo faculty and support staff. The Foundation in a non-profit incorporation organized exclusively for the purpose of supporting education, athletics, capital improvements, and other charitable purposes for the Navajo school.

The mission of the foundation is to raise, manage and distribute resources to enrich the education and experiences of students in the Navajo Public Schools. There have been numerous projects completed thru the foundation since July 2014.

They have helped purchase state of the art equipment for the sports fields, Google chrome books, and early childhood literacy stations. President of the Navajo Foundation, Scott Covey, said, “The grants positively affect all students from Pre-K to High School.”

Presenting the grant checks were President Scott Covey and Foundation Vice President Kent Hurst.
