Early morning convenience store robbery reported

Altus Police are investigating an armed robbery that was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. this morning at the Loves Convenience Store, 619 N. Main.

According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, the victim told police that while he was in a back room of the store the suspect approached him and pointed a shotgun at his head.

“The suspect then ordered the victim to the cash register,” said Murphy. “The suspect then took an undetermined amount of cash from the register and left the store.”

Murphy said that the victim told police the suspect had her face covered, but describes the suspect as a black female, wearing a dark colored hoodie. There were no injuries reported. Police continue their investigation.
