Annual ‘Toys From the Heart” event planned

Free turkey and dressing dinners to also be given

staff reports

The St. John Baptist Church Kitchen Committee is planning their annual “Toys From the Heart” event. This is the 13th year for the event which includes free turkey and dressing dinners for those in our community.

The event will take place in the church fellowship hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. There will be free toys for ages 2 through 8 and gifts for children ages 9 through 11.

Turkey and dressing dinners will also be provided free to the community, but you must be present to receive the meals. Last year the church served over 100 people, and they are praying that they will be able to double that this year. In order to provide for this many, they are taking donations of turkey’s, or if you would like, monetary donations. Cash donations can be given by contacting Minister Erma Bridges at 580-471-9153. Checks can be made out to the St. John Baptist Church with the memo: St. Feeding Program.

In preparation for the gift-giving event, the church is accepting donations of toys for both boys and girls ages 2 through 8, and appropriate gift items for boys and girls ages 9 through 11.

For more information on this event, or how you can help the church reach their goals of helping those in our community this holiday season, call Brenda Torres at 580-481-0318.
