The Pampered Pachyderms of the Carson & Barnes Circus are looking forward to their upcoming stop at Jackson County Expo Center, located at 301 South Todd Lane in Altus, this coming Monday, Oct. 19. The Circus is sponsored by the Blair Class of 2017.

On Monday at 3 p.m., the biggest stars of the Circus are scheduled to receive full “Spa Treatment” from head to toe, and the public is invited to watch. Come see local hero firefighters from the Altus Fire Department help them out!

The elephants will be lathered, scrubbed, exfoliated, moisturized, and pedicured, so they look and feel their best when they greet fans at that afternoon’s big top performance. The process takes gallons of specially formulated “beauty soap” and hundreds of gallons of fresh water.

Local clown celebrity, Lil’ Red The Clown will be riding an elephant at the circus at 4:30 p.m. Come out and see her elephant-driving skills.

The all-new 79th Edition of the Carson & Barnes Circus also features a giant menagerie of exotic animals from around the world, which can be seen free of charge before each scheduled performance. Elephant and pony rides are available for a small charge on the Circus midway, along with many other exciting pre-show activities.

Show times are at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
