Lyn Taylor Art Workshop set at Western

Western Oklahoma State College’ s Art Department announces that it will offer a Colored Pencil Workshop Oct. 26, 27 and 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. in B-19 in the Western Art Department wing. The cost of the class is $30 and all materials will be provided. Those interested in taking the workshop should call the Southern Prairie Library at 477‐2890 for information and to enroll.

The Shortgrass Arts Institute and the Southern Prairie Library System are sponsoring the workshop taught by Shortgrass Coordinator, Lyn Taylor. The workshop is suitable for the beginner or experienced artist. Bobby Avila, long-time Altus High School art instructor, will assist Taylor with the class.

Lyn brings a wealth of talent and education to her classes. Her formal instruction includes attending the Colorado Institute of Art in Visual Communications and Graphic Design, Cameron University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She attended numerous seminars and workshops across the country with such noted artists as Doug Dawson and Ramon Killey. She is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and the Hawaii Watercolor Society. Lyn has used her artistic talents to create illustrated brochures, design ad campaigns, stationery and menus for restaurants in Honolulu, and to provide illustrations and brochures for technical seminars and products.

Shortgrass Arts Institute classes are sponsored by the Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council and the Southern Prairie Library System. These classes are made possible in part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.
