Quartz Mountain State Lodge welcomes a new lodge manager, Randy Johnson. Johnson is a native Oklahoman from the Shawnee/Meeker area who was most recently the general manager of the Cambria Hotel & Suites in Fargo, N.D.
Quartz Mountain had been without a lodge manager since the unexpected passing of Jerry Christopher over the Independence holiday weekend. The lodge staff pulled together during that challenging time.
Johnson is a marketing graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, with a depth of experience in the hotel and hospitality field. He has managed properties in Wichita Kan., Omaha, Neb., Wichita Falls, Texas, and Branson Mo. He has also been a restaurant and a theatre manager.
“We’re excited to have Randy as part of the Quartz Mountain team,” said Executive Director Dr. Terry Mosley. “He brings a great deal of experience to the property and has a good understanding of how a seasonal resort should operate. Being a native Oklahoman, Randy appreciates the history and legacy of Quartz Mountain and the role that we play as a regional tourism destination and our contribution to the overall economy of southwest Oklahoma.”
Johnson and his family are exploring Quartz Mountain and the surrounding area. There are mountain trails to hike, beaches to stroll and small town hospitality to experience. Should you find yourself in the vicinity of Lone Wolf, stop in the lodge an give Johnson a warm Southwest Oklahoma welcome.
