4-H Honors and Awards Reception to be held

Jackson County 4-H members, parents, leaders and supporters are looking forward to the annual First National Bank 4-H Honors and Awards Reception, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the WOSC multi-purpose room. Doors to the reception will be open at 1:30 p.m. for guests to review the various 4-H project displays and the 4-H Year in Review slide show.

The First National Bank of Altus will again sponsor the banquet for Jackson County 4-H. Mike Wagner and Kerry Bull of FNB, met recently with the county 4-H youth council president, Payton Sirmons, to work on the banquet arrangements. Kerry and Mike are President and Vice President of the Southwest District Marketing for FNB. FNB has been sponsoring this reception since the mid 60s. Jackson County 4-H is extremely grateful for all of their support.

About 125 people are expected to attend the program which will highlight the 2014-15 4-H year in Jackson County. The 4-H members, leaders and supporters will be recognized for their achievements and contributions in the 4-H program. County Youth Council President, Peyton Sirmons, of Altus 4-H will serve as master of ceremonies. The theme of this year’s banquet “4-H Wants You.”

The top outstanding members from each club will be recognized. All members who completed a participation form will receive an award relating to their project areas. The naming of the county Hall of Fame awards sponsored by the National Bank of Commerce will climax the program.

The Jackson County Altus Club is serving as the reception decorating and committee chair. They request all local groups be represented at set-up on Friday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. in the WOSC multi-purpose room.

Those attending the banquet need to turn in their registration by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the OSU Extension office.
