City buildings broken into

Altus Police are investigating a burglary at the Altus Parks and Recreation building located on Katy Drive.

Police say they believe the burglary, which was reported on Monday, happened sometime Thursday night or early Friday. Investigators believe the suspect(s) entered the yard by cutting the exterior fence. Once inside the yard, the suspect(s) gained entry into a garage or storage area and removed approximately $5,000 worth of various gas powered tools.

The tools taken include weed eaters, chain saws and pole saws.
