A living history program about Western painter, sculptor, and yarn-spinner Charles M. Russell is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 21 at the restored Plaza Theater at 107 N. Hudson St. in Altus. A free waltz lesson is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 24 followed by an hour of dancing at the Altus Community Center at 401 Falcon Road in Altus. An Oklahoma Rides to Wellness event is slated for 10:30 a.m. to noon April 25 at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, commission room, 200 NE 21st St. in Oklahoma City. The monthly meeting of Altus Chapter 33, DAV & Unit 33 DAV Auxiliary is scheduled for April 25 at the Towers Apartments meeting room, 101 E. Commerce St., Altus. An After School Robotics and Engineering Program for children is scheduled to begin 4:30-5:45 p.m. May 1 and continue Monday through Friday at the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics or STEM Robotics Center at 2908 N. Park Lane in Altus. The event is organized by the STEM Achievement Foundation or SAF to ignite a passion in children from kindergarten through 12th grade in technical areas.
