Fusion is defined as a combination or mixture of things by the Merriam-Webster dictionary.

As it pertains to the three-year-old Fusion Fitness Gym and Wellness Center on 1211 N. Thomas St. just south of Falcon Road, it is the use of a combination of a variety of workout options to help reach fitness goals.

That is what Fusion Fitness offers and what they have offered for quite some time.

Constantly improving their business, Dustin and Jennifer Burrow have done what it takes to make sure their gym is one of the premiere fitness centers in Altus.

“More than anything, we try to be comprehensive of everything instead of seeking out one specific thing which is appealing to the masses,” said Dustin Burrow. “We try to be more family oriented, we offer an outdoor area and saunas which other gyms don’t. We offer classes as well as a full gym membership, personal training and massage therapy.”

The gym has a variety of classes designed to challenge and push each of their attendees to reach his or her peak physical fitness level.

* Boot Camp starts at 8 a.m. Monday and Wednesday mornings and runs for one hour.

* Pilates is 9-10 a.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

* Spin class is 3:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-8 p.m Tuesday and 7-8 p.m. Thursday.

* Tabata is 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

* Strength training is offered 6-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

In addition to all these great classes, Fusion Fitness has started offering cardio kickboxing classes.

The gym has four highly qualified trainers. Bryan Beane, Meredith Thornbrough, Kurt Craddock and Shelly Vinyard all do what is necessary to help their clients attain success.

Both Thornbrough and Craddock are physical therapist assistants at Valir Physical Therapy. Thornbrough taught spin classes in Stillwater and Craddock has been a personal trainer for the past few years.

A gym membership at Fusion Fitness costs $35 per month. A 10 percent discount applies to all educators, students, firemen, police officers and military, for a price of $31.50. To be eligible for discount, the individual must provide valid identification.

A three-month membership is $90, the couple rate is $60 per month and those who wish to enroll in monthly auto draft will only pay $30 per month.

If one wishes to take one or several of the variety of classes offered, adding the class membership on top of an existing gym membership is only an additional $25 per month for unlimited classes with non-members paying just $40 per month for unlimited classes.

Fusion Fitness has staff on-site from noon-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, but is accessible via key card 24 hours a day.
