The Snyder 4-H and Future Farmers of America Show team is holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Snyder Elementary School Cafeteria to help the Garrett Reed family make ends meet. Reed was seriously injured while training a horse July 5. The cost is a donation only. For more information call Ashley Ervin at 580-471-4965 or Brent Ervin at 580-301-0196. All proceeds will go to the Reed family for medical costs and the group has opened an account at All America Bank for donations.

Blair School will be holding a spaghetti dinner athletic department fundraiser 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the school cafeteria. Price will be by donation only and money raised will pay for umpires, tournament fees, equipment, etc. for softball and baseball this fall. For more information or take-out orders call 580-471-8389.

The Altus Masonic Lodge No. 62 is holding a pancake breakfast fundraiser for $5 with biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee and juice from 7-11 a.m Aug. 20 to eat-in or carry-out at the lodge at 1120 N. A first responders appreciation event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Jackson County Courthouse at 101 N. Main St. in Altus to honor law enforcement officers, firefighters and paramedics. There are plans to have hamburgers, hot dogs, face painting, a “bouncy house” and more. The Byron Berline Bluegrass Band is performing at the annual Giddy-Up Gala and Bar-B-Que dinner at the Jackson County Expo Center at 5:30 Aug. 26 before the Great Plains Stampede Rodeo. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. For more information call the Chamber at 580-482-0210.

The Southern Kiowa Chamber’s 7th Annual Fall Festival and Car Show is slated 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 1 in downtown Snyder. There will be five train rides, carnival rides, live main stage entertainment, a car show, a Ninja obstacle course, 5K Walk and Run, Cornhole competition and booth vendors.
