St. John Baptist Church in Altus is gearing up for its 9th annual feeding program to began, Wednesday, June 1. The church will be providing lunches from the fellowship hall at 620 MLK Drive 1 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The feeding will end June 30. Church pastor the Rev. Robert Bostic started this program in 2009, and they have been able to serve thousands of meals, in 2015 alone more than 2,000 people, many of whom were children. There will be a Citywide Tent Revival June 5-10. Services will be 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. from Monday through Friday, at 430 East Pierce St. in Mangum. Elm and Hudson Church of Christ will be holding Vacation Bible School Olympics themed “Champions for Christ” Sunday evenings June 5, 12 and 19. Children are to meet in the An nex at 5 p.m. and the adult class is to meet in the Auditorium at 6 p.m. Topics will be know their strength about Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego on June 5; compete together about the paralytic man and his friends on June 12 and compete to the end about the Apostle Paul. Evenings are set to include sandwiches and chips in the Annex followed by skating at The Skate Place on June 5, pizza and a movie in the Annex on June 12 and a family picnic at Hoyt Shadid Park on June 19.
