The ninth annual St. John Baptist Church in Altus summer feeding program successfully fed more than 2,000 meals during the month of June, according to organizers.

“Reverend Robert and the Saint John family would like to thank all who came out to share a meal, help serve, pray, donate or just sit and share fellowship,” said Erma Bridges of St. John church. “All that you did was a help to the community feeding program.”

The program was open 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 1-30 and served 2,047 meals, according to Bridges.

“We thank God for all everyone did to help us,” Bridges said. “We have already started receiving donations for next year. We praise the Lord and hope that we will double the people.”
