The First Baptist Church at 300 N. Main St. in Altus plans a Vacation Bible School with a unique theme.
“Submerged” is scheduled to run 9 a.m. to noon June 20-24 and takes children on an adventure like no other, deep within the mysterious sea. As kids submerge themselves in God’s word, they will discover that Jesus didn’t just see what’s on the outside of people. He looked deep down on the inside. So grab your goggles, step into your flippers, and dive in to find truth below the surface. Boys and girls, from four years old by September 1, 2015 through the completion of sixth-grade are invited.
Pre-register children at www.fbcaltus.org or call 580-482-1777. You can also just show–up and register the day of VBS. Registration and classroom locations will be available 8:45 a.m. outside the church library on the first floor of the main building. Vacation Bible School is free and “submerged” T-shirts at $10 each will be available, but are not mandatory.
VBS is also for adults. Bring children, grandchildren, friend or family member and stay. Adult VBS begins with breakfast every morning from 8:20-8:50 a.m. in the First Baptist Church’s Activity and Hispanic Church Building. Children can also eat before going to kid’s VBS.
Young children born prior to September 1, 2015 can attend VBS only if a parent, grandparent or adult guardian attend adult VBS. Adult VBS begins at 9 a.m. Dr. Randy Kendrix, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Madill, will bring an in-depth Bible study. Jay Foster, First Baptist Church minister of music and praise band will lead in singing great hymns of the faith. There will be great Christian fellowship for everyone
Organizers say, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way,” from Psalm 139:23-24. Their motto is Jesus sees, Jesus knows, Jesus saves, so say yes to VBS.
