The Jackson County Health Department announced today two upcoming seasonal and H1N1 flu clinics.

The first flu clinic for both seasonal and H1N1 is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 14 at the Jackson County Health Department, 401 W. Tamarack in Altus. Vaccine will be administered from 1 to 7 p.m.

An additional seasonal and H1N1 flu clinic has been scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Jackson County Health Department.

While the new H1N1 (swine flu) influenza has been the focus of so much attention since last spring, it is important that we do not forget the risks posed by seasonal influenza viruses.

Now is the time for Jackson County residents who did not receive their annual seasonal flu shot to come in and receive it as well as those that have not been immunized for H1N1.

Both shots are available for anyone who wants to reduce their risk of seasonal influenza and H1N1 infections.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Jackson County Health Department at 580-482-7308.
