A playoff berth will be on the line when the Altus boys soccer team meets Lawton Eisenhower in a regular-season finale today at Cameron University.
Game time is 7:30 p.m., after the girls game scheduled for 5:30.
The Bulldogs (4-3 overall) are 3-3 in district after a 2-1 victory Tuesday against winless Duncan. Altus shares fourth place with Piedmont (7-5, 3-3), which faces second-place Deer Creek (5-6, 4-1) today. Third-place Western Heights (5-3, 3-2) plays Duncan (0-8, 0-4) today and Deer Creek on Tuesday.
The top four teams in each of the four Class 5A districts advance to the 16-team state playoffs that begin May 2.
Northwest Classen defeated Lawton MacArthur, 1-0, in overtime Thursday to complete a seven-game district sweep and capture the championship. Classen (11-2 overall) is the only district team that has clinched a playoff berth.
A four-way tie for second is possible. The teams’ combined point differentials would break any ties. Deer Creek has a point differential of 13. Western’s combined margin is 5, Piedmont’s is 3, and Altus’ is minus 8.
Tyler Jones and Victor Cuellar scored for Altus in its victory against Duncan, and goalie Dominik Friesenhahn had 11 saves. Eisenhower is 3-5, 0-5.
