December 6, 2013

Two representatives from Altus attended the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Awards Banquet on Nov. 19, held in the ball room at the Western Heritage Center and Museum in Oklahoma City, to receive the “Rookie of the Year” award from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, where over 400 people attended including Governor Mary Fallin.

“Freddy Perez and I were honored to represent the community of Altus and the 500 volunteers who participated in the Clean Up Campaign during 2013,” Altus Chamber of Commerce President Holley Urbanski said. “We had three very successful clean up days with over 21,000 lbs of trash collected. Keep up the good work. Others are recognizing what we are doing. Thank you all for your support of our clean up campaign.”
