House hit by two bullets in shooting

Altus Police are investigating a report of shots being fired in the 300 block of East Hardy on Thursday night, shortly before midnight.


According to Police Chief Tim Murphy, police arrived and discovered the residence at 313 E. Hardy had been damaged by at least two bullets. One round went through the front door and exited the rear door. That bullet was found lodged in a shed in the back yard.


Police also discovered another round had entered the residence, traveling through a interior wall striking a pillow and lodging in a headboard in a rear bedroom. Several shell casings were found outside the residence.


No injuries were reported, and police continue their investigation.
