Free do-it-yourself workshop to be held for kids

September 12, 2013

Home Depot is teaming up with First Christian Church, 2501 N Park Lane in Altus for a free “Do it Yourself” workshop for kids. According to George Dosher, minister, the event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

“Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety, and instill a sense of pride,” said Dosher, who added that the workshops are free for children ages 5-12.

Home Depot Kids workshops provide, while supplies last, a free craft which vary from month to month, a certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a commemorative pin.

“It takes about 20-30 minutes to complete a kit,” said Dosher, “This is a fun, hands-on time for parents and their children to enjoy together.”

He reminded folks that while the Park Lane project continues, the building remains accessible.

The congregation plans to host these workshops with Home Depot every other month.
