Memorial services for Joe Neal Briscoe, 71, of Frederick, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roland Behnke officiating. Inurnment will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Briscoe passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the V.A. Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Joe Neal Briscoe was born Sept. 23, 1941, in Frederick to Joseph Lon and Mary Elizabeth (Harnden) Briscoe, Jr. He attended Weaver Consolidated #13, graduating from Weaver High School in 1959. He later attended Cameron College, before transferring to Odessa, Texas where he received his associate degree. He then received a B.A. Degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and did graduate studies toward his Masters Degree. In 1964, he served in the United States Army and was discharged at the rank of E-5 in 1966. Joe worked as an accountant and controller for Brantly Helicopter. He later owned and operated, Joe N. Briscoe, C.P.A. in Frederick for many years. Joe was a Baptist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, watching TV and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Rock Briscoe and wife Sharon of Newcastle, and Jody Briscoe and wife Meghan of Tulsa; a daughter, Tracy Briscoe of Frederick; a brother, Jim L. Briscoe of Springerville, Ariz.; a sister, Glenda Briscoe of Altus; an aunt, Beverly Wallace of Jacksonville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Maddelynn and Jaxon Briscoe of Tulsa, and Michael, Megan and Elizabeth Briscoe of Newcastle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial contribution made be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Diabetes and Cancer Research in memory of Joe Neal Briscoe.
