Annie Faye Schenkel passed away peacefully on 10 April 2024 in St.

Louis MO at age 90. She was born 24 December 1933 in Marked Tree AR to Aubrey Pryor (1907-1985 a descendant of John Alexander Pryor born Amelia County VA 1750 and Martha Vaughn born Amelia County VA 1751) and Margarette Elvira “Vira” Rie (descendant of James William Rie born c. 1828 Paducah KY, died 1921 and Martha Bone born MS).

Annie’s mother moved her family from AR to MI to work as a Rosie the Riveter on B24 bombers at the Willow Run Ford Plant, later becoming a nurse.

After Wayne High School, Annie joined the US Air Force working in Radar & Radio Operations where she met and married the love of her life Meinhardus “Mike” Klaas Schenkel.

They were stationed all over the US and in Germany, Turkey & Greece.

They enjoyed 64 years of marriage before Mike’s passing in 2017. Annie is survived by her children: Barbara (Tom) Diehl of St. Louis MO, Susan (the late David) Colston of Kansas City KS, and Rieks “Rick” (Joanne Huff and the late Jamie Schumacher) Schenkel of Altus OK, and her brother Aubrey “Danny” (Deb) Owen Pryor of Decatur MI, sister-in-law Murphy Tina (Lipman) (the late Aubrey “Big Dan”) Pryor. Annie has many grandchildren and great grands all across the US. Annie was also preceded in death by a son Michael Henry Schenkel.

Viewing for Annie was held Wednesday, 17 April 2024 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. followed by services at 2:00 P.M. at People’s Cooperative Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Lone Wolf OK, 580-8469018. Interment followed at Hobart Rose Cemetery where the USAF Honor Guard performed graveside rites.
